On October 4th and 5th, 2019, Artipelag will host the American jazz singer and world artist Stacey Kent, and saxophonist Jim Tomlinson. Some musicians develop successful collaborations over time but Stacey Kent and Jim Tomlinson have has a strange chemistry since the very beginning: as if they were corresponding pieces in a musical puzzle.
Over a 20-year career, success has been great. A series of award-winning albums led to a rich and varied expression that reached its zenith on the latest album I know I dream – awarded the Jazz Vocal Album of the Year at the 2018 Jazz Japan Awards. In this album (which was seven years in the making), Stacey and Jim offer up an orchestra palate filled with bossanova, iconic sounds, and new songs composed by Jim Tomlinson with, amongst others, Nobel Prize-winner Kazuo Ishiguro.

After signing on with the recognized Blue Note in 2007, their creations have become even more eclectic. Stacey’s great language skills have allowed her to release an album entirely in French (Raconte-Moi), and her fluent Portuguese has enabled collaboration with Brazilian artists like Marcos Valle, also known as one of the fathers of Bossanova.
Along with Claes Crona’s amazing trio, Stacey and Jim will perform a repertoire of songs showcasing the duo’s full range of skills and no doubt their fan base will only continue to grow thereafter.
GENERAL INFORMATION, TRANSPORTATION AND FOOD
Duration
2 hours and 15 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission. The concert will take place in Artipelag’s Artbox.
Seating
This concert has no gradient. All seats are numbered and tickets have assigned seats. Chairs are all placed flat on the floor.
Buses and Transportation
By the time the show ends, public transportation will have stopped for the day. You can book a seat on our shuttle bus for SEK 100 and this will take you both to and from Artipelag. The bus departs in connection with the concert and the journey takes about 25 minutes
The shuttle bus is booked and paid for via Ticketmaster at the same time as your ticket. Please note that your bus ticket must be booked no later than 3 pm the day before the concert.
Departures from Vasagatan
The bus departs at 4.30 pm and 6 pm on both concert days.
Our shuttle buses are yellow and are operated by Traveller. They depart from Vasagatan 24, just outside the McDonalds restaurant that are located under the bridge that is Klarabergsviadukten. A sign on a post with the text ”Artipelag” marks the departure point.
Buffet
We offer a buffet which is served two hours before the concert begins, in the Artipelag Restaurant. The buffet is booked and paid for in connection with your ticket purchase via Ticketmaster and is priced at SEK 395 per person, including dessert.

Wheelchair Accessibility
We have a limited number of spaces inside the Artbox designed for wheelchairs. These may be booked via Ticketmaster’s customer support (+46 (0)77–170 70 70) or at our Information Desk. It is important that you state when booking that you want to secure a wheelchair space, and if you are an Art Pass member. One additional seat per wheelchair-user is included in the ticket price, for a companion.
Cars and Parking
For those who will arrive with their own car, there are plenty of parking spaces.
