Slovak Quasars Ensemble visit Sweden for the first time when they create a very special art and music experience at Artipelag. There are two performances that can be enjoyed both separately and together as part of "Scensommar" which is a range of concerts and performances that place over the summer at Artipelag.

Day concert - Music and art walk in the sculpture park

During the day, the ensemble plays tunes that guide you through Artipelag's outdoor exhibition Sculpture in Nature. The ensemble was founded in 2008 and focuses on both classical and contemporary music.

Evening concert - Légers Académie Moderne and the Ballets suédois

In the evening, the Quasars Ensemble performs in the art gallery and creates a unique experience for our current exhibition At arm's length. The concert is specially composed for Artipelag and the exhibition. The evening focuses on interwar Paris and the Swedish Ballet in Paris (Ballets suédois), which was an innovative force through its ambition to combine dance, drama, painting, poetry and music in its productions. The ensemble plays music from composers who collaborated with the Ballets suédois. Erik Mattsson, deputy director at Dansmuseet, will also talk about the fascinating history of the Swedish Ballet. After the performance, there is also the opportunity to see the exhibition for about 30 minutes.

The concerts are supported using public funding by Slovak Arts Council, with financial support of SOZA and SKF.
