This year's edition of Scensommar concludes with a truly masterful meeting! Nina Stemme, one of Sweden's internationally most acclaimed dramatic sopranos, returns to Artipelag. Accompanying her on stage is pianist Magnus Svensson.

Participants

Nina Stemme is a prominent Swedish opera singer. She is internationally recognized as one of the world’s foremost sopranos in the dramatic soprano repertoire. She has performed at many of the world’s most prestigious opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House in London, and the Wiener Staatsoper in Vienna. Stemme has been praised for her powerful voice, dramatic interpretations, and stage presence. Her performances have earned her international acclaim and several awards, including the Swedish government’s honorary award for outstanding contributions to Swedish music export in 2016 and The Birgit Nilsson Prize in 2018.

The versatile pianist Magnus Svensson is regarded as one of Scandinavia’s leading interpreters of the classical piano repertoire. Among the singers he happily collaborates with, especially notable are Bryn Terfel, Ian Bostridge, Pretty Yende, Christoph Prègardien, Dorothea Roschmann, Ann Hallenberg, Johanna Wallroth, Miah Persson, Christina Nilsson, and of course, Nina Stemme
