Saturday, January 20, marks the premiere of Bådan Café & Pâtisserie's delicious semlor, a popular Swedish pastry consisting of a wheat bun with almond filling and whipped cream. The pastries are baked entirely from scratch in the Artipelag's pâtisserie.
The wheat bun is baked with organic flour and flavoured with coarsely ground cardamom. The almond filling consists of almond paste and toasted almonds, which, together with cardamom and a splash of Grönstedts VS, gives the semla a robust character. Topped with whipped cream and a lid dusted with powdered sugar, the result is everything one could wish for in a classic semla.
