Just as in 2018, the entertainment for Artipelag’s 2019 traditional Christmas buffet will be provided by Cirkus Cirkör. Throughout the evening, guests will experience absolute top-class circus artistry and a classic Swedish Christmas buffet at the same time. With a lot of heart and a sparkle in the eye, visitors are invited to watch the hottest act in this new circus genre.
Cirkus Cirkör presents a specially composed show consisting of a world-class master of ceremonies, live musicians, and circus artists. In true Cirkus Cirkör spirit, the audience will experience something they did not expect. All seats give the spectators a unique experience of the show and there is circus everywhere: on stage, among the guests, and in the air.
Why not take the chance and experience a spectacular show together with friends and family and at the same time, enjoy a well-prepared Christmas buffet. The entertainment of Cirkus Cirkör is ongoing throughout your meal.

Prices start at SEK 795 (incl. VAT) per person. We apply dynamic prices for the evening shows, which means that the price may vary depending on the day, availability, and demand.
Matinee and dress rehearsal
Matinee SEK 595 (incl. VAT) per person. Dress rehearsal SEK 495 (incl. VAT) per person.
Your ticket includes a traditional Swedish Christmas buffet and a performance by Cirkus Cirkör in our Artbox.

Classic Flavours on a Swedish Christmas Buffet
Our Christmas table includes the classic Swedish dishes as well as a few exciting surprises. There will also be several vegetarian options on this year’s Christmas buffet. In other words, a classic Swedish Christmas buffet with flavors to suit everyone!

For Christmas, our sommelier Tim Good has produced a variety of drinks packages that are perfect compliments to the classic flavours of the Christmas buffet. Alcohol-free beverages are also available but can only be ordered on site.

Transportation & Parking
Buses and Transportation
By the time the show ends, public transportation will have stopped for the day. You can book a seat on our shuttle bus for SEK 70 and this will take you both to and from Artipelag. The bus departs in connection with the end of the show and the journey takes about 25 minutes.
The shuttle bus is booked and paid for via Ticketmaster at the same time as your ticket. Please note that your bus ticket must be booked no later than 3 pm the day before the show.
Departures from Vasagatan
The bus departs at 5.30 pm on weekdays and 4 pm and 5.30 pm on Saturdays.
Our shuttle buses are operated by Traveller. They depart from Vasagatan 24, outside the McDonalds restaurant that is located under the Klarabergsviadukten. A sign on a post with the text ”Artipelag” marks the departure point.
Cars and Parking
For those who wish to arrive with their own vehicles, we have many parking spaces available.
From the exit of Highway 222, a narrow road winds between fields, meadows and other stunning archipelago nature. Therefore, we humbly ask everyone who arrives in their own vehicle to drive slowly and enjoy nature, thus showing consideration for other cars, buses and people.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are the tables arranged?
Placement of groups is arranged by Artipelag and your table will be ready when you arrive. Simply make your group known to the hostess and she will see you to your reserved table. Note that other groups may be seated at the same table. Everyone in your reservation are, of course, seated together. If your group booked several seats separately, but want to sit all together, you will need to notify jul@artipelag.se no later than 10 am on the day before your show.
I’m vegan / vegetarian / gluten intolerant etc and would like a special menu, how does it work?
Send us an email jul@artipelag.se together with your booking number and date and we will help you. Do this no later than 10 am on the the before the show.
Do you have to pre-book your drinks package?
Yes. Larger groups should pre-book all of their beverage packages so you do not have to queue for the bar. All drinks packages are pre-booked at the same time as your tickets are purchased. Book your drinks package by email jul@artipelag.se together with your booking number and date and we will help you.
Is the bar in the same room?
The bar is in the same room as your meal and the show.
When does the performance begin?
Entry to the Artbox is from 30 minutes before the show starts. Before that you are welcome to visit the bar in the foyer.
Is there a coat check?
An unattended coat check and lockable storage boxes are available downstairs from the foyer.
How long is the performance?
About 3 hours. The Christmas show is expected to end at about 10 pm. The performance does not have an intermission but consists of shorter circus numbers that are interspersed with the Christmas buffet.
Is the dinner and show wheelchair accessible?
Yes. We have an unlimited number of spaces inside the Artbox designed for wheelchairs. These may be booked via jul@artipelag.se together with your booking number and date and we will help you.
Extended Opening Hours and Discount on Entry to the Exhibition
On the dates that the Christmas show is on our opening hours are extended in the art gallery (until 6.30 pm) and design shop (until 7 pm).
Everybody that attends the Christmas show can enter the exhibition FORNASETTI Inside Out Outside In with a 50% discount. You can visit any day up until the end of the exhibition, which is January 26th, 2020.

Since its inception in 1995, Cirkus Cirkör has performed for over 2 million people and over 500,000 children and young people have trained, created, and learned through circus. Cirkus Cirkör’s activities now include touring performances, courses and educational programs for young people with or without disabilities as well as for the elderly, secondary school programs, and events for companies and organisations. Tilde Björfors is the founder and artistic director of Cirkus Cirkör as well as the director behind most of Cirkus Cirkör’s major successes such as Borders, Knitting Peace, Wear it like a Crown and Inside out. Beyond her role in the Cirkus Cirkör leadership, Tilde also holds a professorship at the Dance and Circus School in Stockholm, where she presented the Circus Research Project as a cross-border artist in society.
