About the experience
As part of Artipelag's innovative initiative, Crossroads, Isæus-Daggfeldt creates an artwork to the music of Mühlrad, performed by musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Experience the artist's process of creating a new piece while witnessing how the artwork's development becomes a dynamic part of the performance. Does your experience of art change when you are part of the creative process?
A brief presentation of the artist precedes the performance and concludes with a conversation involving all participants.
Participants
Dina Isæus-Daggfeldt (b. 1991) studied at Chelsea College of Art, London, and Konstfack, Stockholm, where she earned her MFA in 2021. Since then, she has quickly established herself on the Swedish art scene. In spring 2024, Isæus-Daggfeldt exhibited at Cecilia Hillström Gallery, Stockholm, and has previously exhibited at Fullersta gård, Färgfabriken, Wetterling Gallery, and Liljevalchs, Gerichtshöfe in Berlin, and Galleri Nicolai Wallner in Copenhagen, among others.
In Dina Isæus-Daggfeldt’s painting, intuition’s impulses are balanced with the thoughtful discipline. She operates within the gestural tradition of abstract painting, where the often powerful movement of color across the canvas and the calligraphic gesture take center stage. She also introduces new visual elements through intricate patterns and detailed brushwork.

Composer Jacob Mühlrad is today one of Europe’s most recognized composers. The classical music bible BBC Music Magazine gave his debut album a 5 out of 5 rating. The Economist has described him as a “rising star” and an “unusually versatile composer”. His works have been performed at many prominent concert halls worldwide, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Norwegian Opera, Victoria Hall in Singapore, and the Bamberg Concert Hall in Germany.
With a unique ability to span different genres and musical expressions, he has collaborated with international stars such as Martin Fröst and Swedish House Mafia. Mühlrad has quickly established himself as one of today’s most significant music creators, seamlessly integrating classical music with popular culture influences in his works.
