About the concert

Fröst Interlaced. A chamber music concert with the Fröst Art Trio, consisting of the brothers—world-renowned clarinettist Martin Fröst, viola star Göran Fröst, and pianist Johan Fröst. This trio, who have been playing together since childhood, share an exceptional musical chemistry. Don't miss the chance to be part of their first international tour and experience their only stop in Sweden at Artipelag.

Participants

Martin Fröst is a Swedish clarinettist considered one of the finest in the world. He has performed with leading orchestras and is highly acclaimed for his virtuosity and emotional interpretations. Fröst is the first clarinettist to be awarded one of classical music’s most prestigious honours, the Léonie Sonning Music Prize. Additionally, he is the only wind player appointed Artist in Residence at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra for the 2022/23 season. Martin is a musician and artist constantly seeking new ways to challenge and reshape the classical music arena. He also runs the Martin Fröst Foundation, aiming to provide music education to children and young people worldwide

 

Göran Fröst is a violist and principal of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra. He has established himself as one of our foremost violists and has had several works written for him. Göran is also known for his innovative chamber music projects that explore new dimensions within music. He constantly strives to break new ground in classical music. Göran is a strong advocate for the viola as a unique solo instrument and works continuously to expand the repertoire for his instrument.

Johan Fröst is a pianist and lecturer at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He won first prize at the St. Charles International Piano Competition in Chicago 1997. Johan completed his doctoral degree in piano at Rice University in the USA in 2000 and received his soloist diploma in 1992 from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He has performed as a soloist worldwide and is also a prominent visual art and music researcher.
