School Visits

Artipelag invites students and teachers to experience art through our current exhibitions.

Our goal is for every student to discover art in their own way, find their own expression, and be inspired to think differently. Our programmes can be adapted to suit different age groups — making art both accessible and relevant.

Cost per tour/activity: approx. SEK 1,250 for 30–45 minutes

Students under 18, accompanying teachers, assistants, and participants in SFI courses and LSS activities receive free admission to the art gallery.

For tours in the art exhibition space, an admission fee of SEK 95 applies for students with a valid student ID or other valid proof of ongoing studies at a minimum of half-time enrolment.

Artipelag’s tours and activities are available in Swedish and English.

Each tour lasts approximately 30 minutes and accommodates a maximum of 30 students. Two teachers must be present during the tour.

Tours are adapted to the specific needs of each group. We are flexible — get in touch when booking and we’ll find an arrangement that works for your group.

If visiting without a booked tour, we ask that you contact us in advance and register your group upon arrival at the museum.

Please book at least ten working days in advance. The guided tour will take place during the museum’s regular opening hours. For guided tours outside the museum’s regular hours, don’t hesitate to contact us for a quote.

Cancellations can be made up to 14 days before the booked date.

50% of the cost will be charged for cancellations made 14–7 days before the booked date.

100% of the cost will be charged for cancellations made 6–0 days before the booked date.

As the name suggests, Sculpture in Nature explores the interplay that arises when art is placed in nature rather than in the traditional neutral white cube. The outdoor exhibition features works by Nordic as well as international artists.

The permanent collection includes works by Jaume Plensa, Maria Miesenberger, Joel Fisher and Klara Kristalova, among others. The sculptures are occasionally relocated to avoid fixing a work to a single site, and the exhibition is periodically expanded with temporary additions — most recently a sculpture by Annika Liljedahl.

During the tour, we make carefully selected stops in the collection, encountering a variety of techniques, ideas and artistic practices, and opening up a discussion about what happens when art meets nature. Please note that this tour takes place outdoors.

During the tour, we will explore how different visions and ideas are reflected in the intriguing choice of materials and interior design.

Nätspinnare (Web Spinners) is a sculptural installation by Annika Liljedahl, situated in bergrummet (the Rock Chamber) at Artipelag. The work is a recent acquisition in Artipelag’s art collection, with a soundscape composed by Lo Kristenson.

Following a tour of the exhibition, students work hands-on in our workshop. They create their own interpretations of the artworks using various materials, encouraging both creativity and reflection.

Together, we explore the sculptures in Artipelag’s outdoor exhibition Sculpture in Nature. Students discover materials, forms and expressions, and finish by sketching their own interpretations on site.

During this creative activity, we explore the interplay between nature and the artworks as we draw four selected sculptures from the exhibition. With pencil and paper, we study the shapes and shadows of the works from different angles. No previous experience is needed — the activity is suitable for beginners as well as those who are already comfortable drawing.
