Food & drink

At Artipelag, our ambitions in the kitchen are every bit as high as our ambitions in art, nature, and architecture. Our culinary team, led by Head Chef Mikael Axell, delivers dishes of the very highest caliber—everything from traditional Swedish fare to plates inspired by cuisines from around the world.

On the rooftop, we tend our own gardens, cared for by the skilled hand of our gardener. What we don’t grow ourselves or forage from our own grounds, we source locally—our beer comes from Värmdö Bryggeri, our sparkling apple must from Värmdö Musteri, and our cheeses from Ostmakeriet on Rindö.

The flavors on your plate are, of course, complemented by carefully chosen wines, beers, and aquavit, selected by our sommelier.

A summer day at Artipelag

A summer party might begin aboard one of Strömma Kanalbolaget’s turn-of-the-century steamships, departing from Nybrokajen in central Stockholm. After a journey of just over an hour through Stockholm’s beautiful archipelago, you’ll arrive at Artipelag’s own dock. From there, a short walk along our accessible waterfront promenade and up through the woods brings you to Artipelag, where a welcome drink is waiting. The afternoon might continue with a team-building activity or an inspiring, vibrant visit to the current art exhibition. By the time you’re finished, the grill is already going and the tables are set in the evening sun. As the sun begins to set, everyone moves inside, where a DJ or live band and dancing await well into the early hours. Drinks flow from mobile bars that can be set up anywhere in the building. After an evening of celebration, chartered buses whisk everyone back to the city in just 30 minutes.
