My creative life – Lillemor Jakobson
This autumn, Artipelag celebrates designer Lillemor Jakobson’s 90th birthday with the exhibition My Creative Life, created in collaboration with the museum’s founders, Björn and Lillemor Jakobson. For the first time, her versatile creativity is presented in a comprehensive exhibition – from early sketches to completed designs. Through drawings, textile works, watercolours, and design projects, visitors are invited to explore Lillemor’s selected highlights from her creative journey.

About the exhibition
Lillemor Jakobson’s creative journey spans from elementary school in Stocksund, through Berghs School of Communication and textile studies at Konstfack, to her role as an innovative designer at BabyBjörn. My Creative Life presents a selection of her work – from early sketches to finished products – showing how her artistic vision has shaped everyday objects.
In the exhibition, visitors can explore how art, function, and form have interacted in Lillemor’s creative work: from the Droppen dripp bib and the Hjärtenära baby carrier to the Baby Carrier Original with its classic parallel piping — the design that made BabyBjörn’s products famous worldwide — as well as scenographic trade fair displays for baby products. The exhibition also highlights how her patterns, colors, and marketing skills inspired a new perspective on baby products and contributed to a design philosophy promoting equal parenthood.
– With this anniversary exhibition, I want to show the creative journey I have taken through life – from childhood until today, says Lillemor Jakobson.
