For our very first exhibition we have chose to avail ourselves of art history as an historical appendix to highlight some of the central aspects of the spirit of the place. To show its relevance in our time, 16 contemporary artists illustrated their aspect of the site\u2019s soul and spirit.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"max-w-screen-md mt-5 mx-auto first:mt-0\"><div\n  class=\"prose sm:prose-lg lg:prose-xl\"\n  x-data=\"\"\n  x-init=\"$nextTick(function () {\n    const videoEmbeds = document.querySelectorAll('.wp-block-embed.is-type-video');\n    videoEmbeds.forEach(function (embed) {\n      if (!embed.classList.contains('wp-embed-aspect-16-9') || !embed.classList.contains('wp-has-aspect-ratio')) {\n        embed.classList.add('wp-embed-aspect-16-9', 'wp-has-aspect-ratio');\n      }\n    });\n  })\"\n>\n  \n<p>An experience of a particular place can consist of the successful blending of the nature, architecture, and art in order to form a whole. It is this blending that was in part the inspiration for Artipelag, with its location surrounded by nature and where the boundaries between outer and inner spaces are not always obvious.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"max-w-screen-md mt-5 mx-auto first:mt-0\"><div\n  class=\"prose sm:prose-lg lg:prose-xl\"\n  x-data=\"\"\n  x-init=\"$nextTick(function () {\n    const videoEmbeds = document.querySelectorAll('.wp-block-embed.is-type-video');\n    videoEmbeds.forEach(function (embed) {\n      if (!embed.classList.contains('wp-embed-aspect-16-9') || !embed.classList.contains('wp-has-aspect-ratio')) {\n        embed.classList.add('wp-embed-aspect-16-9', 'wp-has-aspect-ratio');\n      }\n    });\n  })\"\n>\n  \n<p><em>On Location, <\/em>one component of <em>Genius Loci<\/em> consisting of work from 16 contemporary artists, demonstrated what Artipelag is through a variety of media such as painting, sculpture, installations, photography, video and mixed-media artwork.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"max-w-screen-md mt-5 mx-auto first:mt-0\"><div\n  class=\"prose sm:prose-lg lg:prose-xl\"\n  x-data=\"\"\n  x-init=\"$nextTick(function () {\n    const videoEmbeds = document.querySelectorAll('.wp-block-embed.is-type-video');\n    videoEmbeds.forEach(function (embed) {\n      if (!embed.classList.contains('wp-embed-aspect-16-9') || !embed.classList.contains('wp-has-aspect-ratio')) {\n        embed.classList.add('wp-embed-aspect-16-9', 'wp-has-aspect-ratio');\n      }\n    });\n  })\"\n>\n  \n<p>The second part of the exhibition consisted of a historical appendix, where several rooms illuminated differing aspects of place throughout art history. The starting point was Rome, as the city of cities, a city that never lost its soul. Nordic romantic landscape painting that has contributed to our cultural self-image today and images of interiors help us to understand life in evolving modern cities throughout the world.
