Studio Visits is a project that will present new artworks by contemporary artists. H\u00e5fstr\u00f6m participated with the new suite\u00a0<em>The Making of a Prophet<\/em>, a serie inspired by his childhood in Sunday school with focus on the story of Jesus\u2019 life.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"max-w-screen-md mt-5 mx-auto first:mt-0\"><div\n  class=\"prose sm:prose-lg lg:prose-xl\"\n  x-data=\"\"\n  x-init=\"$nextTick(function () {\n    const videoEmbeds = document.querySelectorAll('.wp-block-embed.is-type-video');\n    videoEmbeds.forEach(function (embed) {\n      if (!embed.classList.contains('wp-embed-aspect-16-9') || !embed.classList.contains('wp-has-aspect-ratio')) {\n        embed.classList.add('wp-embed-aspect-16-9', 'wp-has-aspect-ratio');\n      }\n    });\n  })\"\n>\n  \n<p>One of H\u00e5fstr\u00f6m\u2019s first meetings with art was in Sunday school when his teacher tried to illustrate the biblical histories through cut-outs of the characters. H\u00e5fstr\u00f6m\u2019s serie illustrates eleven histories from Jesus\u2019 life, including The Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem and Jesus and the Woman Taken in Adultery. The image sequences can be seen as a kind of morality or sedictory stories. The artworks are made out of cut-outs of the characters placed on a square patterned paper which is covered with armored glass. Some of the figures in the pictures are partially hidden, coffee stains blur the motive and gives the picture a kind of patina and a mysterious appearance.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"max-w-screen-md mt-5 mx-auto first:mt-0\"><div\n  class=\"prose sm:prose-lg lg:prose-xl\"\n  x-data=\"\"\n  x-init=\"$nextTick(function () {\n    const videoEmbeds = document.querySelectorAll('.wp-block-embed.is-type-video');\n    videoEmbeds.forEach(function (embed) {\n      if (!embed.classList.contains('wp-embed-aspect-16-9') || !embed.classList.contains('wp-has-aspect-ratio')) {\n        embed.classList.add('wp-embed-aspect-16-9', 'wp-has-aspect-ratio');\n      }\n    });\n  })\"\n>\n  \n<p>The motives that H\u00e5fstr\u00f6m used in\u00a0<em>The Making of a Prophet<\/em> can be found in drawings from his childhood. H\u00e5fstr\u00f6m describes the appearance of the suite as a result of an archaeological excavation of himself, where unexpected things from the subconscious show up.
