Children at Artipelag

At Artipelag, adults and children are equally welcome. We have large, stroller-friendly spaces, sometimes activities for young people, and three toilets equipped with changing tables. In addition, we have a lockable Nursing Room with both a sofa and a private toilet for your comfort.

Artipelag was created by Björn and Lillemor Jakobson, founders of BabyBjörn – the world’s largest manufacturer of baby carriers. Therefore, accessibility for families is a top priority in Artipelag’s business model.

For example: BabyBjörn baby carriers are available for borrowing (free!) from our information desk. The same applies to strollers. A selection of BabyBjörn’s products for children are also available for sale in our Design Shop.

Food and Drink for Children

In Bådan Café & Pâtisserie as well as the Artipelag Restaurant, we have plenty of high-chairs available for your family’s use. Bådan Café & Pâtisserie also has baby food for purchase, and all lunches and brunches have a special children’s price available. Did you want to bring your own baby food with you and need somewhere to heat it up? No problem! Just let one of our restaurant staff know and they will help you out.

Activities

Our installations usually have special family tours – sometimes targeted to children and sometimes to adults, and there is very little for children to ”mess up” or to be seen as disruptive.

From time to time, we arrange special activities just for the kids. There may be classes in painting and sculpture during the school holidays or entire family weekends when the whole of Artipelag will be extra focused on children for a full Saturday and Sunday. In the summertime, we love being close to nature and often arrange outdoor painting for both adults and children.

We always get super excited about our scavenger hunts where we move through the beautiful, natural surroundings of Artipelag and if you are lucky, our 1200 m² Artbox might even be prepared as a play city with roads, pedal cars and traffic lights! Up on the rooftop terrace an exciting stone labyrinth awaits, and sometimes Building Pieces are made available as well.
