Welcome to enjoy Christmas lunch in a beautiful archipelago setting with an astonishing view overlooking Baggensfjärden. From the beginning of December, we light the open fire and set the traditional Christmas table with a rural atmosphere – followed by a dessert table as tasteful as beautiful.
Christmas – the Midsummer in winter!
There are many – and at the same time few – similarities between Christmas and Midsummer. But regardless similarities and differences they are holidays to cherish. When the first spring vegetables, like fresh potatoes and strawberries play the leading part on the Midsummer table, the Christmas ham and Jansson’s temptation take the lead on the Christmas table. There are many similarities and so also here at Artipelag Restaurant where the Christmas food is made from scratch or delivered from local producers on Värmdö or nearby.
We smoke fish and meat in our own smokehouse, the herring and the Baltic herring is pickled in-house. The sweet finale is presented by our award-winning bakery and patisserie.
Our head chef Patrik Gullmarsvik does not leave anything to chance and will ensure high quality to every detail. Head of Pastry Annie Hesselstad is responsible for the abundant dessert table. Our Sommelier Tim Good completes the picture by offering matching beverages such as our own Christmas drink as well as homemade snaps and locally produced beer.

For the upcoming Christmas buffet, we follow the recommendations issued by the Public Health Authority and Visita to make the visit to Artipelag Restaurant as safe as possible.
- We have expanded our cleaning routines and our facilities and relevant surfaces in the restaurant are regularly cleaned
- We provide hand disinfection, disinfection tissues and plastic gloves to guests
- To avoid congestion, this year we offer fewer seats in the restaurant
- We adhere to the one-meter rule in accordance with the recommendations issued by the Public Health Authority.
- To avoid queuing, our staff will help by informing seating guests when collecting food is possible.
Creating a safe environment is of course built on cooperation – it is a dual responsibility. It means that you as a guest for example keep the distance and time slot allowed in order to minimize contact. Needless to say – stay at home at slightest sign of illness.
