Our Christmas buffet is served on selected dates between November 30th and December 21th, 2018.

Come and enjoy a Christmas food experience with us in the Artipelag restaurant’s beautiful archipelago setting with its breathtaking views over Baggensfjärden. Throughout December we light the open fire and serve traditional Christmas food with all the trimmings – plus a selection of desserts which look as sumptuously Christmassy as they taste.

Our goal is to embrace the best traditions of Christmas by pulling together the best Christmas taste experiences from the north of Sweden to the south and from the start of the last century up to today. You will find both classic dishes and an assortment from more modern times.

All our Christmas food is either made from scratch here at Artipelag or delivered by local producers on Värmdö and the surrounding area. We smoke our fish and meat in our own smokery, we pickle our herring ourselves and our Artipelag loaves are baked using barley malt from Värmdö brewery. Our cheeses are selected and brought in from the local dairy, Ostmakeriet.

Anything that we can’t find here on Värmdö, we bring in from elsewhere in Sweden or wider Scandinavia. The Christmas ham comes from Edgården in Västerbotten, the organic eggs are from the hens at Sanda Hönseri in leafy Österhaninge, and the salmon comes from the waters off Bømlo, western Norway. In the kitchen, we handle our produce according to the finest traditions of home cooking where nothing goes to waste.

Our chef, Gustav Otterberg, leaves nothing to chance and serves up the highest quality down to the tiniest detail. Sommelier, Tim Good, complements the range of tastes with carefully matched beers, wines, snaps and liqueurs.
The Christmas buffet kicks off with a warm cup of mulled wine served, of course, with some ginger bread.
